Research Projects

  • SAFEWORDS Project
    "Ethical, Privacy-Preserving and Trustworthy Language Technologies within the HumanAIze Project". SAFEWORDS is a core component of the HumanAIze project, a coordinated research initiative aimed at developing the next generation of human-centred, trustworthy and multilingual large language models (LLMs) for Europe. Within this framework, SAFEWORDS provides the ethical, legal and data governance backbone that ensures all technological developments are fully aligned with European fundamental rights, democratic values and regulatory requirements.
  • CORTEX Project
    "Conscious Text Generation" (Generación consciente de textos). Integrating world knowledge into NLG systems to prevent hallucinations and improve reliability. Funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science.
  • ALIA Project
    A public AI infrastructure project to support Spanish and co-official languages in AI. Contributing expertise in NLP and linguistic data management.
  • Research and advisory/coordination in the development of a conversational assistant based on human language technologies for the execution of banking transactions

    Published research in Knowledge-Based Systems, Information Processing & Management, and RANLP.
  • Participation in Shared Tasks
    Active participation in SemEval (3rd position in Task 10 of 2025) and IberLEF (6th position in Autextification 2023) shared-tasks. .
  • Participation in Hackathons
    Won the first prize in the Innovation Banking Hack Fest 2023 hosted by the Sabadell Bank.
